WP calls for transparent plan to renew expired rail assets

The Workers’ Party calls on the government to do the following:

1. To ensure a proper rail assets renewal schedule is in place, to replace ageing rail assets before their end-of-life.

2. To introduce KPIs on the progress of maintenance and renewal of rail assets.

3. To update the public on the status of negotiations between LTA and SMRT on the new rail financing framework, and set a clear deadline for its conclusion.

MRT breakdowns have not abated since the massive breakdown this July. The frequency of MRT breakdowns must not become a normal way of life in Singapore. It is totally unacceptable. - Dennis Tan Lip Fong
