Kong Soon is currently Deputy Organising Secretary of the Workers' Party and supports the Organising Secretary in event logistics and resource planning of outreach activities. Previously, he served in the same position during his 2016-2018 and 2022-2024 CEC stints. He was also former Legislative Assistant to Mr Low Thia Khiang from 2013 to 2017 and Youth Wing Vice-President from 2012 to 2016.

Having joined the party in 2007, Kong Soon believes in the need to build a vibrant democratic society with credible political alternatives. He enjoys interacting with and serving constituents alongside like-minded party members and volunteers. Born in a working class family, he was fortunate to be put through the Singapore education system, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (Merit) and thereafter a Master in Mass Communication. He is married with no children.

Professionally, Kong Soon has two decades of experience in the higher education sector across student development, alumni relations, and community engagement. In his free time outside of career and politics, he is an avid endurance athlete who enjoys running marathons. A lifelong fan of Liverpool Football Club, he embodies the club's motto, 'You'll never walk alone,' in everything he does.
