Biography

Ang Boon Yaw is the Deputy Organising Secretary of the Workers' Party. He began his journey with the party in 2012 as a volunteer and has since played significant roles in various elections, serving as the Election Agent for Sengkang West SMC in the 2015 General Election and East Coast GRC in the 2020 General Election.

One of the aspects Boon Yaw enjoys most in his work with the party is helping out at Meet-The-People Sessions, where he assists residents in overcoming the challenges or issues they face.

Boon Yaw envisions the Workers' Party as a credible, constructive, and rational force in Singapore's political landscape, aiming to secure at least one-third of parliamentary seats to effectively serve as a check and balance on the Government. He dreams of a more compassionate society where diverse "Singapore Stories" are written by Singaporeans from all walks of life.

Professionally, Boon Yaw is a practising lawyer at Yeo Marini Law Corporation. He holds an LLB from the University of Tasmania and a BSc in Banking and Finance from the University of London.

Family is central to Boon Yaw's life. He is married and has three children. His hobbies include cycling, swimming, listening to music, reading, and embarking on road trips.

One interesting fact about Boon Yaw is that he completed a full Ironman 140.6 in Busselton, Australia, in 2010. He also undertook an impressive cycling journey from Penang, Malaysia, back to Singapore, covering 1,000 km over five days. Additionally, he holds a Taxi Driver and Bus Driver licence.
