Career and Education
Jimmy is the owner of Immanuel Engineering Pte Ltd, a company specialising in overpressure protection, flame arresting, and combustible dust explosion equipment, which he established in 2009. He transitioned from production and procurement roles into outdoor sales in November 2020. Prior to this, he was deployed by his former employer, Servo Dynamics Pte Ltd, as Deputy General Manager (Sales) to set up and oversee the sales operations of the Shanghai office, Gateway Motion (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
Jimmy holds a Diploma in Production Management from PSB Academy.
Involvement with the Workers’ Party
Jimmy started volunteering with the Workers’ Party in 2018, working with a number of ground teams in Tampines and (then) Marine Parade GRCs, ultimately being deployed to the latter, where he served as the Election Agent for Fadli Fawzi during the 2020 General Election.
Since August 2020, he has volunteered in the Eunos division of Aljunied and was appointed as Secretariat Assistant to LO Pritam Singh in February 2023, a role he held until 31 January 2025 where he became Pritam’s Legislative Assistant.
Vision for Singapore
Jimmy believes that a healthy democracy requires a balanced political system. He envisions a Singapore where power is more evenly shared between the ruling party and a credible, loyal opposition. Such a balance would encourage all parties to develop citizen-centric policies that address pressing concerns, in order to earn the mandate of the people.
He appreciates the efforts of Workers' Party MPs, who have advocated for progressive policies such as minimum wage and redundancy insurance, resulting in broader inclusivity through the Progressive Wage Model and the SkillsFuture Jobseeker Support scheme after GE2020. Jimmy believes that walking the ground, listening to residents concerns, and proposing policies to address these concerns are the core responsibilities of an elected Member of Parliament.
Philosophy and Passions
Jimmy is a Singaporean who grew up in a rental flat, which did not deter him from pursuing career and academic advancements. In 2009, he made the decision to become an entrepreneur, which he has not regretted.
Jimmy welcomes challenging tasks and loves to set-up systems through process to bring on board new teammates preparing & empowering them to take over and execute the task through the system at their level best.
