Vision for Singapore
Nathaniel envisions a Singapore where people of all ages feel a genuine sense of hope for the future—not just for themselves, but for their loved ones and future generations. This sense of hope is crucial as it gives people the confidence to build their lives, start families, pursue meaningful careers, and contribute to society. He recognises that many Singaporeans today are weighed down by the cost of living and societal pressures, which makes it harder to look ahead with optimism. If Singapore can create an environment where people feel supported and secure, it will foster a future where more Singaporeans choose to stay, grow, and thrive together.
Nathaniel’s support for the Workers’ Party began in 2006, when he was a first-time voter. He believed then, and still does, that the Workers' Party is a credible and respectable alternative for Singaporeans. In 2008, he began volunteering, and by 2009, he became a member, driven by his desire to help build a credible alternative that Singaporeans could confidently support. His long-standing commitment to the WP reflects his dedication to creating a strong opposition in Singapore’s political landscape.
Philosophy and Passions
Nathaniel stands by his word and follows through with action. He sees failure as a stepping stone to growth and leads with integrity, responsibility, and resilience. His unwavering commitment to progress reflects a dependable leadership that voters can trust.
When Nathaniel was 16, he lost his father just a few weeks before his O-level exams. Despite the grief, he focused on his studies, revising biology on the first day of his father’s wake. This resilience and determination helped him score 19 points for his L1R5 and led him to pursue further education at a polytechnic. The experience taught him the importance of staying committed, even in the face of adversity—a lesson he carries with him in all aspects of his life, including his political work.
From a young age, Nathaniel enjoyed professional wrestling, especially the powerful speeches wrestlers delivered to excite the crowd. Their charisma and storytelling inspired him to begin his Toastmasters journey in his polytechnic days, where he discovered a passion for public speaking and connecting with audiences through words.
