Involvement with the Workers’ Party

Jackson is an active member of the Workers' Party of Singapore, having started his journey as a grassroots volunteer in the Serangoon division of Aljunied GRC, where he contributed to food distribution, ground outreach efforts, MPS, and grassroots events.

He was eventually appointed as a Legislative Assistant to former MP Leon Perera before stepping up as Serangoon Coordinator following Perera's resignation in July 2023. In this role, he served Serangoon residents and worked closely with volunteers across the ward for just over three years.

Beyond his grassroots involvement, Jackson was elected to the executive committee of the Workers' Party Youth Wing for the 2023-2025 term, where he helped to plan and execute events aimed at engaging younger Singaporeans.

He is also a core member of the Party’s media team, where he supports media outreach, public engagement, and strategic messaging efforts.

Vision for Singapore

As a communications professional, Jackson believes that greater transparency, press freedoms, and a strong, independent media collectively strengthen government accountability and empower informed civic participation.

Citizens should also have the right to pursue freedom of information and request access, in the public interest, to data held by public authorities. It is important to foster a culture where the media can report freely and independently. When journalists are able to work without undue pressure or fear of reprisal, they can explore a range of perspectives and provide the public with well-rounded, factual reporting.

Philosophy and Passions

By standing as a candidate, Jackson hopes to show that politics is not the domain of an elite class of bureaucrats, but a space where ordinary people, from all walks of life, can come together to give Singaporeans a better and fairer shot at life.

Singaporeans deserve to know that their voices matter—that they have a real stake in shaping the policies that affect their daily lives. When people are equipped with clear, reliable information, they can engage in meaningful debate, advocate for their communities, and hold their leaders to account.

Beyond politics, Jackson is also exceptionally skilled at table soccer (foosball)—a talent honed through a misspent childhood and many competitive matches during his National Service, where he went toe to toe with many of 2PDF’s ranking officers in the Lion’s Den.
