Occupation:

Financial Consultant

Background:

Fazli came from a family of 8 members. He was adopted at the age of three by a relative, who brought him up with lots of love and care. His adoptive father is a tugboat master and his adoptive mother is a housewife. He also has 3 younger adoptive siblings.

He was educated in Dunman Secondary School and obtained his Diploma Manufacturing Engineering from Nanyang Polytechnic. He completed his national service with the Army 9th Division Service Maintenance Battalion.

A Financial Consultant by profession, Fazli has been in the Financial Services Sector for more than 6 years. He enjoys serving and providing financial advice to help his clients to achieve their financial goals such as saving for the future or even getting adequate coverage for their families.

Fazli’s political interest first arose during the General Elections in 2006; he was impressed by the slate of candidates fielded by the Workers’ Party. Miss Sylvia Lim later came to his house and shared with him information about the Workers’ Party, and he eventually joined the Party in 2010. Fazli believes that the Workers’ Party is a responsible party which has Singapore’s interest at heart, and that the party has a key role to play in providing alternative solutions to challenges faced by Singapore.

Fazli is also a member of a Mosque Management Board in a neighbourhood mosque and has served the Malay-Muslims community in the area since 2008.

Philosophy:

Fazli believes that democracy can be strengthened by having a diversity of credible and sincere political parties in Parliament as policy-making can be fine-tuned to better serve the people.

He also believes that Singaporeans should be able to live comfortably throughout their golden years and the older generations should be provided with better welfare benefits such as health care protection.

An active WP Youth Wing Exco member, he urges more younger generations to come forward and contribute to the progress and social development of Singapore.

“Singapore is our home. We should provide a better place for our future generations,” he says.
