Background:
Yee Jenn Jong is an entrepreneur who has started and mentored several startups, most notable of which is ASKnLearn Pte Ltd, a leading technology-enabled education services provider in Singapore. He founded ASKnLearn in 2000 and took it from a 4-man start-up to a regional outfit with over 150 employees servicing over 300,000 learners across Asia. In 2007, ASKnLearn was sold to Mumbai-listed Educomp Solutions Ltd.
Since leaving ASKnLearn, Jenn Jong has started various education ventures, from schools’ engagement team leader to Singapore Technologies for Odyssey 3D Virtual World to publishing of eBooks for pre- and primary schools. He also developed Imagination & Creativity Development programs for schools in collaboration with renowned TV artist Oistein Kristiansen. These programs are now used regionally in Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and China.
Jenn Jong was an OCBC Bank scholar and he has two Masters degrees, one in Science and another in Business Administration. He has taught Computer Science at the National University of Singapore, served on the Singapore Trade Development Board and was Group General Manager of the KinderWorld education group. Other than ASKnLearn, he had also owned and sold two pre-school businesses in Malaysia and Singapore. He also taught part-time at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Polytechnic and at various private education organisations.
Jenn Jong is an active international speaker on a diverse range of topics ranging from ICT to management and entrepreneurship. He has served on various government policy committees in the areas of ICT and education such as the Singapore government’s REACH Policy Study Workgroup on Education and the National InfoComm Education Workgroup. He is currently a member of Temasek Junior College’s Advisory Board and a Non-Resident Fellow of Sheares Hall at the National University of Singapore. He was a Board member of the Centre for Non-Profit Leadership, an Exco Member of the Singapore IT Federation E-Learning Chapter, President of TJC Alumni and School Advisory Council member of the Naval Base Primary School.

Jenn Jong believes that a democratic society should ensure equal opportunity for all and active participation by its citizens in the political process.
